This is a smaller version of a desert tree taken from a larger pastel painting of a desert scene entitled "A Door of Hope" that I painted years ago when I lived in California. I wanted to focus on the beauty of this smoke tree with its blue-violet blooms that bring such a colorful accent to the beauty of the surrounding desert.♥
