Description
I painted this painting of the old city of Jerusalem with chalk and pastels for a church Easter program back in 1984. The original artwork was about 12 feet wide and 8 feet high. Recently I enhanced it on Photoshop in to give it an interesting ink texture.
During the last few years I have begun to sense the Lord's breaking heart over this beloved City that has seen so much bloodshed and strife over the years. People of opposing faiths and points of view all seem to believe that the land is far more important than the people.
But God died to redeem people...not land! It's people who are His beloved treasure! So as we approach this coming Easter season let's celebrate what Jesus did for all people by His life, death, and resurrection. Those who believe have freedom, forgiveness, identity, and new life in Him. So let's fix our eyes on the finished work of Jesus Christ so that we find rest for our souls (Matthew 11:29). โฅ
