Description
This oil that I painted a while ago is part of a larger painting, but now looks more like a charcoal or pastel because of the way I altered it to create this black and white image. This little girl I painted reminds me so much of myself when I was a small child.
The reason she looks sad and wistful is because life is very unpredictable in her world. Things are never what they seem to be. Black is supposed to look black and white is supposed to look white. But not for her because she has grown up in a home where black and white become interchangeable...
So it's hard for her to trust people that she is supposed to be close to. She knows how their unkind words and actions can really hurt her heart. Although she's sad and wistful, she's always hopeful that tomorrow will be a better day.♥
