"A Foggy November Morning" is a another version of "By Dawn's Early Light" where I have slightly changed the color of the painting and added a beautiful fog to remind us what November is like here in the Northwest, but also in the United Kingdom where i grew up. I love to create mood paintings that speak to our hearts and lift our spirits so that we may escape into the wonderful world of art where we are free to roam the woodland and joyfully take in the wonders and beauty of God's creation.
As I look at this peaceful scene it brings back many fond memories of when I was a kid growing up in England, and how much I use to love to feed the ducks every time we would go to the park. I use to love to watch the ducks dive into the water after the bread. Although most of them tried to out swim one another to get to the bread first there was always those slower ducks who preferred to wait for me to throw the food directly at them so they wouldn't have to work at getting fed! I grew up in the United Kingdom, and immigrated to the USA when I was 19. After attending several different colleges over a number of years, I finally received my BA degree and began teaching children with special needs. However before I got my teaching degree I was a substitute teacher, and got hired to teach art classes in an elementary school in Southern California. The goal of this pilot program was to determine what kind of impact creative expression might have on the academic lives of elementary school students. For six months I taught children how to enhance their drawing and painting skills by providing a nurturing, fun, and supportive environment.
