I painted the original version of this watercolor many years ago when I was confined to a TB hospital for 2 months. Apparently I got a fungus in my lungs that looked like TB, but thankfully wasn't. So in order to lift my spirits, I escaped into the wonderful world of art where I was free to travel to distant places that were far away from sights and sounds that reminded me I was in a hospital.
In this version of the watercolor I changed the colors to create a nostalgic mood for this summer evening scene. As the long shadows fall on the stone bridge and quaint little Italian village we can only guess that the sun will be setting soon. Can you hear the the sound of the babbling water as it meanders downstream alongside this small mountain village and gently ushers in the evening hours and another peaceful summer night? ♥

My goal was to empower these children through their creativity, and in turn...
