As I was painting this pastel for my grandson I was reminded of how much he always loves water. I could just imagine his delight at finding a big fish like this while playing in the ocean!
You know God is interested in finding big fish and little fish in His ocean, too. Since He's fishing for people, He's calling us to leave the "nets" we have trusted in and follow Him instead.
His Spirit is still drawing men and women, boys and girls to Himself... one by one. He's still calling His children into childlike joy and freedom so that He can make them fisher's of men.♥

I grew up in the United Kingdom, and immigrated to the USA when I was 19. After attending several different colleges over a number of years, I finally received my BA degree and began teaching children with special needs. However before I got my teaching degree I was a substitute teacher, and got hired to teach art classes in an elementary school in Southern California. The goal of this pilot program was to determine what kind of impact creative expression might have on the academic lives of elementary school students. For six months I taught children how to enhance their drawing and painting skills by providing a nurturing, fun, and supportive environment. Hazel, I really enjoyed looking through these joyful kid pastel illustrations, these big eyed kids remind me of the wonderful 1930's cartoon kids ... I am also reminded, that when I am down ... it does not honor my Lord as one of his attributes is Joy ... I believe that when we are truly joyful we all draw a little closer to Him ...
