I used colored chalk to create the background of this impressionistic artwork for a church Easter program back in 1984. The original piece of artwork was about 12 feet wide and 8 feet high. A year ago around Easter I used soft pastels to add these children to the foreground of this smaller version of the art print.
Can you identify with these children waving palm branches and singing praises? Remember what Jesus said to His disciples? If you don't let the children praise Me, the stones will begin to cry out! Then in Revelation 7:9 we are given a beautiful picture of God's children holding palm branches as they praise their King in His Kingdom for all eternity.♥
I grew up in the United Kingdom, and immigrated to the USA when I was 19. After attending several different colleges over a number of years, I finally received my BA degree and began teaching children with special needs. However before I got my teaching degree I was a substitute teacher, and got hired to teach art classes in an elementary school in Southern California. The goal of this pilot program was to determine what kind of impact creative expression might have on the academic lives of elementary school students. For six months I taught children how to enhance their drawing and painting skills by providing a nurturing, fun, and supportive environment. It's now Holy Week Hazel... I've found another way to display this wonderful depiction not only of Jesus entry into Jerusalem, but parable let the little children come, we must be like these little children. Also a favorite scripture daily go to for God's Will not mine is 1 Thess 5:16-18 summarized: God's Will: Pray, Rejoice, Thank.. we the Lord!
