Beautiful painting Hazel ~ your grandfather reminds me of half myself ~ I love the solitude, aloneness, quiet thoughtful bible reading and prayer times . . . but I also love the times of meals with friends and family and lively, even friendly argument . . . I think their is little inbetween for me . . . Beautiful honoring work.

Artist's Description

This is a smaller version of the oil painting, "The Evening Meal". When I painted this oil I wanted to honor my grandfather's memory... his frugal ways and the simplicity of his life style. This painting speaks eloquently of my grandfather's solitary ways...

He was a recluse who enjoyed the solitude of sitting by a warm fire, eating a bowl of bread and milk, alone with his own thoughts.♥
