Description
This oil is part of a larger painting that I did many years ago when I was going through a very dark and difficult time in my life. But today I decided to reduce the size of it and change the colors a little and alter the time of day.
Now the glow of the setting sun is reflected in the windows of the old cabin and the still waters of the pond. The glow of the sun reminds me of sitting by the warm fireplace in my grandparent's home wishing the sun would hurry up and go down so we could turn on the lights. Apparently this was the way my grandparents saved money on their electric bill... by doing everything by the light of the fire until it was just too hard to see anymore. Those were the good old days.♥
